The Madrid rider will contest his first kilometers, on land, with the Peugeot 208 R5 T16 in the Rally Serras de Fafe, in Portugal this weekend. The sporting event will be his third consecutive participation in the test of the neighboring country.
Pepe, participated with the Peugeot 208 R2, in the two previous tests, leaving very good feelings to all the fans present, as much to the Portuguese as the numerous Spanish fans displaced until the north of Portugal. The Madrid driver and to his right, Borja Rozada, led the category, until the moment of abandonment due to mechanical breakdown, but this time it will be his ground debut with the Peugeot 208 R5 T16, so far his participation has been on asphalt and Ice / snow.
It will undoubtedly be a further step in its set-up to tackle the program that has become official only a few days ago, where López-Rozada will compete in the European Rally (ERC) which will find both asphalt and dirt . The ERC can also serve as a first contact with the Portuguese sections, because it is possible to participate in the Rally de Portugal as a test parallel to its official program as a personal preparation.
Before this appointment, the young driver told us: “I really want to compete on land, as it is a new experience for me with this car. Also, I want to take the opportunity to thank personally the great support I receive from Teo Martin because without him this whole program of preparation would be impossible.
